Strawberry Shortcake with Blood Orange

can refrigerated biscuit dough

tablespoons butter, melted

tablespoons sugar

powdered sugar, strawberries and blood orange slices - for garnish

Sunkist® Blood Oranges, segmented

cups Naturipe® Strawberries, sliced

tablespoon sugar

teaspoon vanilla paste or vanilla extract

cup heavy whipping cream

tablespoon powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Place segmented oranges and strawberries in a bowl. Sprinkle with sugar and vanilla, mix and set aside.
- Place biscuits on a baking sheet a few inches apart from each other and bake 13-15 minutes.
- Brush biscuits with butter while warm and sprinkle with sugar.
- For the whipped cream, add the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar into a large chilled bowl and whip until fluffy.
- For strawberry whipped cream, puree 1 strawberry and slowly mix it into the whipped cream.
- To assemble shortcakes: slice biscuits in half. Add blood orange and strawberry filling to bottom biscuit. Top with whipped cream. Add top biscuit and place a dollop of whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with more blood oranges and strawberry filling.
