Enjoy a crisp, candy-coated twist on a traditional treat with Sunkist Mandarin Tanghulu — whole mandarins encased in a glassy sugar shell for the perfect balance of juicy and crunchy.

Ingredients

  • 3 Sunkist® Mandarin Oranges, peeled and separated into segments
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • Skewers

Directions

  1. Thread 3 Sunkist® Mandarin segments onto each skewer and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup, stirring until dissolved. Bring to a boil and cook without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  3. Quickly dip each skewer into the hot sugar syrup, turning to coat the mandarins evenly. Let excess syrup drip off.
  4. Place the skewers on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and harden for about 5 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy the crisp, glassy sugar shell over juicy Sunkist® Mandarin segments!
