Ingredients

Blood Hound Cocktail

  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed Sunkist® pummelo juice
  • 1/2 ounce spiced blood orange cordial, with freshly squeezed Sunkist Moro blood orange juice (see recipe below)
  • 1 ounce tequila
  • 1/2 ounce aperol
  • 1 ounce rooibos tea, chilled
  • flamed Sunkist Moro blood orange zest for garnish

Blood Orange Cordial

  • Zest and juice of 4 Sunkist® blood oranges
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 6-inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Blood Hound Cocktail

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add Sunkist® pummelo juice, spiced Moro blood orange cordial, tequila, aperol and chilled rooibos tea.
  2. Shake for 10 seconds.
  3. Pour into a rocks glass over ice.
  4. Garnish with a flamed Sunkist Moro blood orange zest.
  5. Virgin option: Remove tequila and aperol

Blood Orange Cordial

  1. Combine freshly-squeezed Sunkist® blood orange juice, zest, sugar, cinnamon stick and salt in a small pot.
  2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Strain.
