Orange French Toast with Kaya

A twist on the classic Singaporean breakfast, Orange French Toast has a subtle sweetness that’s perfect for a weekend morning indulgence when paired with Kaya and a cup of Kopi-O.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of brioche bread, thickly sliced
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup of Sunkist Navel orange Juice
  • 1 Sunkist Navel orange, Zest of
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • Kaya to serve
  • Icing sugar to serve
  • Sunkist Navel orange slices for garnish

Directions

  1. Whisk eggs, orange zest, orange juice, ground cinnamon in a large shallow bowl.
  2. Dip 1 slice bread into egg mixture for 1 minute each side.
  3. Add butter to melt in a frying pan, place the eggy bread to cook for 2 minutes on each side over medium low heat until golden.
  4. Dust icing sugar over orange toast, and kaya on the side.
  5. Garnish with orange slices before serving.<br /> <br /> VARIATION:<br /> Serve with a side of eggs and kopi-o for a quintessential Singaporean breakfast
