Grapefruit Compote

Ingredients

  • 2 Sunkist® California Star Ruby grapefruit, segmented
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 pinch cayenne powder

Directions

  1. In a pot, add grapefruit, honey and rosemary. Cook over medium to high heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Once mixture starts to boil, lower heat to a simmer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and take the rosemary out of the pot.
  4. Once mixture has cooled slightly, taste and add more sweetener if desired.
  5. Add cayenne.
  6. Serve warm on toast, over pancakes, waffles or ice cream.
