Cara Cara Crème Brulee ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • .5 cup granulated sugar, plus extra for caramelizing
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • .5 cup freshly squeezed Sunkist® Cara Cara orange juice
  • 1 tbsp Sunkist® Cara Cara orange zest, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Hot Water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). In a saucepan, heat heavy cream, ½ cup sugar, and orange zest over medium heat until warm (but not boiling). Remove from heat.
  2. Whisk egg yolks in a bowl, then slowly pour in the warm cream mixture while whisking continuously. Stir in Sunkist® Cara Cara Orange juice and vanilla extract.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve, then divide evenly into four ramekins. Place ramekins in a baking dish and add hot water to the pan, halfway up the sides.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the custard is set but slightly jiggly in the center. Let cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  5. Sprinkle a thin layer of sugar on top of each custard and torch until caramelized. Garnish with more Sunkist® Cara Cara Orange zest before serving.
